The 100 most important questions in mineralogy

Kevin Murphy and Richard Harrison (Cambridge University) invite us to participate in this iniciative:

As some of you may have read in the June issue of Elements, we are launching a community led exercise to determine the key future research challenges in the mineral sciences. We aim to identify 100 mineralogical questions that, if answered, would have the greatest impact on resolving current and future challenges in the Earth, planetary, environmental and applied sciences. For full details of the exercise and how to participate, please visit our website (http://www.100-questions.org).

Therefore, we would like to invite members of the SEM to participate in the exercise and contribute their thoughts by: a) initiating discussions via the MSA Talk list, b) having conversations with colleagues over coffee, c) visiting the 100-questions website and entering your questions.

So what do you think are the 100 most important questions in mineralogy? Let the debate begin!
